Silvio Zalambani gained his diploma in saxophone, clarinet and jazz music.

For several years he has been interested in the study of the latin american music and culture, especially in the tango, in the afrocuban and afrobrazilian culture. In 1997 he founded "Tango Tres" trio and in 2000 "Grupo Candombe".

In 1998 he recorded his first CD with Tango Tres taking care of its arrangements. His first CD was released in 2001 with Grupo Candombe and the second one in 2005 with the same members of the group; in both you find original compositions and arrangements of different latin american styles written by himself.

Both the projects were given unanimous agreements by the public and the music critics in magazines such as All about Jazz, Jazz It, Jazz Italia, Musica di Repubblica, Latinoamerica en vilo (Miami-Florida, USA) and they have also been presented on RAI Radio3-suite, RAI Radio1-Brasil, RSI-Rete2 (an italian Radio in Switzerland), Radio Swiss Jazz and Radio RaBe of Bern (Switzerland), RCV of Lille-France, Radio Nazionale and Radio Palermo of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Radio Plance of Lima (Perù) and Radio USC of Santiago de Cali (Colombia), KOOP Radio of Austin-Texas (USA), Radio Palermo and Radio Nacional of Buenos Aires and Radio Planice of Lima (Perù).

In 2002 and 2005 Silvio Zalambani made seminars and concerts at the USP and UNAERP Universities of Ribeirão Preto-SP (Brazil), also playing with Mario Féres quartet (famous pianist of Jacques Morelenbaum).

In 2003 Silvio Zalambani and his Grupo Candombe performed at the XXIII Festival del Caribe - Fiesta del Fuego in Santiago de Cuba and in Guantànamo and they were the first italian group of this kind. The group was invited by Dr José Millet, president of this traditional music and culture festival, considered to be the most important festival of all caribbean countries.

In 2005 with thanks to the cultural sponsorship of Emilia Romagna, he represented Italy with both his projects ("Tango Tres" and "Grupo Candombe") at the "VI World Tango Festival" that took place at "Lope de Vega" Theatre in Seville (Spain).
Thanks to the success he was interviewed by Mr Gabriel Soria, the vice-president of the Tango National Academy of Buenos Aires for the argentinean "Solo Tango" TV.

In 2007 with both his projects he partecipated again to "VII World Tango Festival" at Valparaíso (Chile), then he performed at Radio Nazionale Argentina and at Cultural Center “T.Tasso” in Buenos Aires (Argentina).

Also in 2007 he performed in Goiânia "Teatro Municipale", inside International Festival “Camargo Guarnieri” organized by UFG-ECAM University of Goiás state (Brazil).

In 2009 he'll partecipate to the next edition of World Tango Festival, that will take place in S.Carlos de Bariloche (Argentina).

Concerning jazz he performed with "Siena Jazz" Orchestra and with "O.F.P." Orhestra of Bologna, directed by Carla Bey, Steve Coleman and Bruno Tommaso (with whom he recorded the CD "Vento" in 1996), then with "Domenico Caliri Project", Paolo Fresu, Pierre Favre, Donovan Mixon, Steve Swallow, Marco Tamburini, Riccardo Tesi, Gian Luigi Troversi, etc..

Concerning classical music, he has been the winner of several music contests and auditions ("Ente Lirico Arena" of Verona), "Accademia Bizantina Ravenna", "Orchestra civica di Fiati Città of Milano", "Teatro Comunale G. Verdi" of Trieste) and he has collaborated with different Orchestras, "Orchestra Città di Ferrara", "Teatro Sociale" of Rovigo, "Filarmonica of Bacau - Rumania").

In 1992 partecipating to the Ministry of Education contest he was qualified to teach saxophone at the Conservatory, and he worked as a saxophone teacher at the Conservatory of Ferrara (1993), Como (1996), Rodi Garganico (1997), at "Centro di Formazione Musicale" of Bologna (1996/1998), Imola (1998/1999), at the Municipal Music School "G. e L. Malerbi" of Lugo di Romagna (2000/2001).

From 1996 to 2003 he taught saxophone and jazz music at the Municipal Music School "G. Sarti" of Faenza, then he gave seminars in Marsala (TP), Fermo (AP), Ribeirão Preto and Jaboticabal - SP (Brasile), Goiânia – GO (Brasile) and S. Sofia (FC) where he teached musical improvising in Afro-american and Latin-american culture.

Since 1999 he is a saxophone professor at the Conservatory "A. Scontrino" of Trapani (Sicily).
